Mussels - NZ Greenlip Mussels
Greenlip Mussels (scientifically known as Perna Canalicula and well known world wide as the New Zealand Mussel) provides a flesh which is full, plump and richly flavoured.
Green lipped mussels are exclusive to New Zealand and feature dark brown and green shells with “green lips” around the edges and only have one adductor muscle. This variety of mussel can reach 240mm in length making it one of the largest of the mussel species.
Hawkes Bay Seafoods greenlip mussels are grown on ropes suspended from platforms on the surface of the ocean. Once harvested, we prepare them in a variety of methods ready for ordering online, and delivery to your door. Live, fresh steamed shell on, fresh steamed and shucked, frozen raw meat, marinated in a range of flavours or fresh steamed and flavoured with shell on.
